Mass for the Deceased Saturday 22nd November at 11.00am. This Mass will be held for
all parishioners of St Patrick’s and St Pius parishes who have lost a loved one
during the past year. All other parishioners are invited. This has become an
annual event and brings God’s healing strength to all. Refreshments will be
available in the Hall afterwards.
New Church As I’m sure you have noticed building work on our new church has begun.
The foundations are being prepared – GREAT NEWS! I’ve met the building firm Hastie
Burton from North Shields. Their aim is to have the church complete by July
2009. This will be a good time to get it up and running during the summer
holidays ready for school and parish activities in the autumn. I shall attend a
works planning meeting on site every two weeks with the architect, builder and
surveyor. I shall keep you up to date. May God bless us all as we build a house
of prayer for worship and praise.

St Patrick’s Hall has been successful in securing more than 90,000 Pound worth of lottery funding for Hall renovation and improvement.
Funders at the Big Lottery were suitably impressed with our recent grant application and, as a result, have awarded us 96,412 Pound
of grant funding. This is a fabulous achievement and one that we should celebrate.
